Eight key decisions were taken during the National Covid Task Force meeting chaired by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa that was held this morning.
Following are the decisions taken during the meeting:
- Commence administration of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine as a booster dose to frontline workers from 1st November.
- Complete the vaccination of all eligible children within the next two weeks.
- Take necessary measures to bring down current Covid deaths to zero.
- Focus on areas from which patients are being reported to prevent transmission of the virus.
- Commence schools for the primary section, and Grades 11 and 13.
- Lift inter-province travel restrictions from 31st October.
- Commence train services within provinces from Monday (25th October).
- Commence inter-province train services from 1st November.
