A 16-year-old school student was reported dead after being hit by a train in the Mulgampola area in Kandy last evening (26).
The Police stated that the teenager, who is a resident of the Madapowala area in Kandy, had been struck by a train plying from Badulla to Kandy.
Investigations have revealed that the accident had occurred due to the boy disregarding the flyover for pedestrians and had crossed the railway track while on a phone call.
According to reports, the teenager is a student at a prominent school in Kandy. The Kandy Police is conducting further investigations. (NewsWire)
