164 vehicles handed over to Ministries and State bodies

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today symbolically handed over vehicles for the use of Ministries and State bodies. 

A total of 164 vehicles were handed over to be used for the field operations of the Government institutions and Ministries.

Fifty (50) ambulances, 52 water bowsers, and 62 double cabs are among the distributed vehicles. 

In addition, 150 motorcycles from the Japan International Cooperation System (JICS) were also handed over to the Sri Lanka Police.

The ambulances have been granted to the Health Ministry and the Suwa Seriya Free Ambulance service. 

The water bowsers and double cabs have been handed over to State institutions, including the Wildlife Department, Irrigation Department, Local Government bodies, and District Secretariats.

The motorcycles from JICS will be used by the Sri Lanka Police for traffic operations. (NewsWire)
