2 Covid patients identified after test conducted on individuals detained for not wearing Face Masks

Two persons out of 300 persons who were detained for not wearing face masks and were subjected to Rapid antigen test have been tested positive for Covid-19, Police said.

PCR or antigen tests will be conducted on individuals not wearing face masks from today apart from taking legal action, Police said earlier today.

Police Spokesman, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ajith Rohana said that more people have been detected on the streets without face masks.

“You must wear a face mask when moving around in a public place or an area where the public also gather,” he said.
