An accident has been reported from the Panwila Police division where a bus traveling towards Panwila veered off the road and rolled over.
The accident has occurred near the DGM estate Bungalow on the Madolkale – Unanagala road. The bus had been carrying a group of employees from a garment factory.
At the time of the accident, 28 people had been traveling in the bus and 20 injured have been admitted to the Madolkale divisional hospital. Later, 8 of the injured have been transferred to the Kandy General Hospital for further treatment.
Police say that initial investigations have revealed that the cause of the accident is due to breaks of the bus malfunctioning. (NewsWire)
