Kadugannawa Police say that a 26-year-old woman was killed and another injured when the elevator of a private factory in the Pilimatalawa area collapsed.
The accident had taken place when the two women were transporting some goods downstairs in the elevator.
Following the accident, the two women were rushed to the Peradeniya Hospital where one of them succumbed to her injuries, police said.
The injured girl is currently receiving treatment at the Peradeniya Hospital. OIC of Kadugannawa Police station said that a special police investigation has been launched into the incident. (NewsWire)
