The Meteorology Department has predicted that the Southwest monsoons for the year 2020 could start by the 03rd week of May.
In a statement issued via Government Information Department, the Met. department has issued a stern warning too that there could be a serious disastrous situation such as floods, landslides and strong winds if the southwest monsoon gets activated like it was during the last few years.
The Meteorology Department has expressed concerns that due to the prevailing situation in the country with regard to the Covid-19 pandemic, it’ll be a very tough and very risky process to carry forward disaster management activities if the Southwest monsoons are activated.
