Former Sri Lanka fast bowler Lasith Malinga has applauded Sri Lanka cricketer Nuwan Thushara who picked up five wickets against the Jaffna Kings last night in the qualifier of the ongoing Lanka Premier League (LPL) tournament.
Nuwan Thushara, also known as ‘Podi Malinga’, picked up five wickets for 13 runs in a tremendous spell and displayed a slinging action similar to that of former fast bowling legend Lasith Malinga.
Commenting on Thushara’s performance, Sri Lanka great Lasith Malinga extended his wishes stating that he was proud to see the young cricketer’s improvements.
“I’m really happy and honored to see your improvement malli. Congratulations on claiming your best figures in T20 cricket,” he said.
Malinga further said “Great to see the accuracy and control shown by Nuwan Thushara! I still remember watching and analyzing the videos of you bowling in your village during the covid lockdown and having long conversations with you regarding your bowling action and improvements needed”. (NewsWire)
