Four individuals have been arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake with forged Polish visas.
The suspects were arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department Unit at the airport on Wednesday (18).
The Police stated that they had arrived at the Katunayake airport to travel to Poland via Doha, Qatar.
The suspects are residents of Kilinochchi, Jaffna and Rajagiriya, and are aged between 21 and 37 years.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the group had been sent by human traffickers who had obtained money from them on the promise of legally sending them to Poland for employment.
The CID has launched investigations to apprehend the fraudsters. (NewsWire)
