A father and daughter have been arrested after a period of four years for having concealed the accident of a 2 year old child of a tea plucker in the Badulla area.
The Badulla Police said that the child who had been playing in her front garden had died after being knocked down by a three- wheeler that had been driven by the female suspect.
The two suspects together had discarded the body of the child on the main road to prove that she had died in a road accident.
The Police said that the accident had occured on 11th May 2018 and the victim was a two year old girl from the Muthumala area in Badulla.
The two suspects involved in the accident were arrested yesterday after investigations conducted over the last four years.
The suspects have been identified as residents of the Muthumala area in Badulla aged 78 and 43 years. (NewsWire)
