The Severe Cyclonic Storm “Mandous” over Southwest Bay of Bengal (230km east-northeast of Jaffna) is very likely to move northwestwards and cross North Tamil-Nadu,Puducherry and South Andhra Pradesh coast over Southwest Bay of Bengal around night hours of 09th December.
Hence, Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Northern province. Heavy rainfall above 100 mm can be expected at some places in the aforementioned areas.
Strong gusty winds about (60-70) kmph can be expected at times over the Northern, North Central, Eastern, Uva & Central provinces and in Hambantota district.
