Two suspects have been apprehended within two hours of having committed a robbery based on a selfie taken by the victim.
According to Daily News, two men had stolen a gold chain from a woman by placing a knife to her neck.
However, the victim had managed to take a selfie at the time capturing the face of one robber and had handed over the image to two Police officers in the area.
The Police officers had thereafter informed the Homagama Police who were able to track down the two suspects based on the picture evidence.
The two suspects were apprehended while travelling on a motorcycle in the Pitapana area.
The Police found nearly ten and a half grams of heroin, a mortgage receipt for Rs.90,000 from a bank in Godagama, and a Rambo knife in the possession of the two men. (NewsWire)
