Video footage has emerged of three people being swept away while crossing a river.
The individuals were swept away while being part of a chain of people who were attempting to cross the river during inclement weather.
The incident had taken place in the Nawalapitiya area.
A search operation is underway together by the Police and area residents to find the missing individuals. (NewsWire)
