President Ranil Wickremesinghe expects the Dollar rate to reach Rs.280 rupees by June this year.
The President said that the drop in the Dollar rate will lead to a decrease in the prices of goods.
“We anticipate that the rupee will continue to strengthen next year as well,” he said.
Commenting on Sri Lanka’s economic crisis, the President said the country has passed a challenging period and that tough decisions had to be made to overcome this situation.
“However, we have now reached a point where we can offer some relief,” President Wickremesinghe pointed out.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe made these remarks at the inauguration ceremony of the Bodhigara and Golden Fence, constructed near the historic Mangedara Tempita Viharaya in Kegalle on Wednesday (Mar 20). (NewsWire)
