A 6-year-old girl was killed after getting hit by a train near the Piyagama railway station near Kosgoda on Saturday (28) morning.
According to the police, one of the two girls who was walking near the railway crossing was hit by the train plying from Maradana to Beliatta.
The deceased has been identified as a resident of Piyagama, Hegalla.
The body has been placed at the mortuary of Balapitiya Hospital and Kosgoda Police are conducting further investigations. (NewsWire)
