Litro Gas Lanka says the distribution of domestic gas cylinders will commence mid-next week.
Earlier today, the primary gas supplier announced that the distribution of domestic gas cylinders has been suspended until Sunday (29).
Chairman of Litro Gas Lanka, Vijitha Herath said that distribution has been suspended until the next shipment of gas arrives in Sri Lanka.
He said once the shipment arrives, the company will commence the distribution of domestic gas cylinders from Monday, the 30th of May.
Calling on the public to refrain from standing in queues over the next few days, he assured that distribution will commence from next week.
A shipment of 3500 MT of gas was due to arrive in Sri Lanka yesterday but had instead headed to India, as Sri Lanka was unable to provide the necessary facilities for the vessel to refuel.
Thereby, Litro Gas Lanka announced that the arrival of the shipment of gas will be delayed by another two days.
However, the company has now announced that the distribution of domestic gas cylinders will commence mid-next week. (NewsWire)
