Monetary Board member Dr. Ranee Jayamaha has revealed that the then Central Bank Governor Prof. W.D. Lakshman, Treasury Secretary S.R. Attygalle and nominated member Samantha Kumarasinghe decided to fix the exchange rate at Rs 203 in spite of her and Sanjiva Jayawardena, PC, opposing them.
Dr. Ranee Jayamaha said this responding to SJB MP Harsha De Silva yesterday, during the COPE committee meeting.
