The Ministry of Energy is working on introducing an online platform to share information on the availability of petroleum stocks and distribution schedules at fuel stations islandwide.
Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said that the online platform is being created by the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA).
The Ministry of Energy expects to launch the online platform to the public in the next 10 days, he said.
In a Twitter message, the Minister further said a discussion was held yesterday on the online platform.
Once launched it will alert registered customers on the availability of petroleum stocks and distribution schedules at fuel stations islandwide, he added.
The MInistry is working on launching such a platform as long queues are being reported in fuel stations across the country due to the shortage of fuel. (NewsWire)
