Former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa should have retired after concluding his second term as President of Sri Lanka, his brother and MP Chamal Rajapaksa told Parliament today.
MP Chamal Rajapaksa said the failure to do so has resulted in Mahinda Rajapaksa facing the current circumstances.
“Nearly 50 years of his outstanding political achievements and journey have been lost at present,” he further said.
MP Chamal Rajapaksa said along with entering and engaging in politics, people must also learn to let go at the right time.
“If we become greedy for power and political posts then we have no choice but to face such consequences as we see today,” he pointed out. (NewsWire)
