A 35-year-old woman has died after being stabbed to death by her husband in a hotel room in Arugambay, Pottuvil yesterday.
According to the Police, the woman’s husband, a 51-year-old man, had also died by suicide inside the same room following the incident.
Investigations reveal that the couple had arrived at the hotel to stay, but suspicions had arisen after they had not ventured out of their room.
Hotel authorities had informed officials at the Arugambay Police Checkpoint, who had opened the door to find the woman dead with stab injuries.
They later found the husband, who had died by suicide, inside the washroom of the hotel room.
The woman has been identified as a resident of Mahakalugolla, while the man is a resident of Pottuvil.
The Pottuvil Police is conducting investigations into the incident. (NewsWire)
