A group of members from the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) entered the room of the Speaker in Parliament today to protest the actions of the Police against protesters near the Parliament.
The Police fired tear gas and water cannons to disperse the protesters who have remained at the entry road of the Parliament since last evening.
The SJB members have questioned the Speaker of the Parliament MP Mahinda Yapa Abeygunawardena on the actions of the Police.
They also questioned the Speaker on the delay in providing a date to debate the No-Confidence Motion (NCM) that has been submitted against the government.
The SJB members said the Speaker has the authority to provide a date to debate the NCM, but not the impeachment motion. (NewsWire)
