The President’s Office has denied claims of a salary cut for state employees participating in the islandwide hartal underway in Sri Lanka today.
Issuing a statement, the President’s Media Division (PMD) said there are posts being shared on social media platforms using the letterheads of the PMD office on the salary cut of state employees.
The social media posts claim that the salaries of state employees for the month of May will be cut due to their participation in the hartal.
Refuting the allegations, the PMD said the administrative division of the President’s Office has not issued any such directives.
The PMD added that investigations have already been launched into the false news. (NewsWire)
