SJB MP Harin Fernando today requested all opposition political party leaders to unite together to achieve the people’s demands.
Speaking in Parliament, the MP requested SJB Leader Sajith Premadasa, JVP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake, and other opposition leaders to join leaving personal political objectives aside.
The MP also responded to Government MP Namal Rajapaksa who questioned what next if President Gotabaya Rajapaksa resigned.
MP Fernando said that it’s clearly mentioned in the constitution what’s next when the President resigns and he said in that situation someone like Dr. Harsha de Silva could be the temporary President for six months until Sri Lanka could overcome this crisis.
"People are dying on the roads but still our political parties can't join together to find a solution. I am ashamed of myself too. If no one wants to be caretaker President, give it to Harsha for six months" MP @fernandoharin
