Statement from Football Sri Lanka President, Jaswar Umar on the demise of
Duckson Puslas
I along with the Football Sri Lanka family are deeply saddened and shocked by the
passing away of National Player Duckson Puslas. Our thoughts are with his loved
ones during this tragic and difficult time.
Duckson was a hardworking, dedicated, and fearless player on the field for club and
country. Off the field, he was a kind and gentle soul loved by his family, friends,
teammates, and officials.
He was performing well for Club Valencia in the Maldives at the time of his death.
We are working with the Football Association of Maldives, Club Valencia officials, and the Maldivian Police to determine the cause of his death and are in further communication with the Sri Lanka Embassy in the Maldives, the Foreign Ministry and.the Ministry of Youth and Sports headed by Hon. Namal Rajapaksa to make the rest of the arrangements as smooth as possible for his family.
