Sri Lanka batsman Avishka Fernando could be out of cricket for several months after suffering a serious knee injury in Australia.
“Avishka suffered a serious knee injury during practice, which requires surgery” Senior SLC official told NewsWire.
“He will most probably get the surgery done in Australia, he could be out for atleast 3 months” the source added.
Avishka Fernando played two games in Australia and struggled to make an impact.
Avishka now becomes the 5th player unavailable for selection in the tour with Nuwan Thushara (Injured), Ramesh Mendis (Injured), Binura Fernando (Covid) & Wanindu Hasaranga (Covid). (NewsWire)
