A Gazette notification has been issued declaring two key sectors as essential services in Sri Lanka.
As per the Gazette, all services connected to the supply of electricity and the supply or distribution of petroleum products and fuel have been declared as essential public services.
The Gazette notification has been issued by President Ranil Wickremesinghe, dated March 03, 2024.
