Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals MD resigns after Minister’s order

The Managing Director of the Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals LTD M. Uvais Mohamed has tendered his resignation.

Sources said Uvais Mohamed resigned from his post today by handing in his letter of resignation to the President’s Secretary.

According to Hiru News, his resignation reportedly comes after Minister of Energy Udaya Gammanpila had instructed the Ministry Secretary to remove him as the Managing Director of Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals LTD.

The resignation has been announced hours after the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) announced a hike in fuel prices. (NewsWire)
