Sri Lankan actor turned politician Uddika Premaratne says he has decided to step down from the Parliament of Sri Lanka.
The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Anuradhapura District MP today tendered his resignation from his Parliament seat.
In his resignation letter, Uddika Premaratne says he had entered the political arena in the hopes of creating change as a young leader.
He says, however, as the opportunity has not been presented over the last few years, it is difficult to take forward his work as an individual.
Citing the above reasons, Uddika Premaratne says he has decided to step down from his Parliamentary seat. (NewsWire)
