China has announced the suspension of the energy projects that were planned in three Islands in the Northern Province, citing security concerns from a third party.
The Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka said Sino Soar Hybrid Technology has suspended the projects to build Hybrid Energy system in 3 Northern islands.
The Embassy further said the firm has, instead, inked a contract with the Maldivian Government to establish solar power plants at 12 islands in the country.
The agreement was inked on the 29th of November, the Chinese Embassy added. (NewsWire)
