The Department of Meteorology has issued a severe weather advisory for seven provinces and the Polonnaruwa District.
Issuing a statement, the Department said the prevailing low-level atmospheric disturbance over the South-East of Sri Lanka and adjoining South-West Bay of Bengal has developed into a low-pressure area and is currently located in the East of the country.
Therefore, heavy showers above 100 mm can be expected in the Eastern, Uva, Sabragamuwa, Central, North-Western, Western, and Southern Provinces and in the Polonnaruwa District.
The Department added that the weather advisory will be in effect until 10.00 am tomorrow (26). (NewsWire)
