Pandora Papers : Ranjan writes to Bribery Commission

Former Parliamentarian Ranjan Ramanayake has offered his assistance to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) over its investigations into the Sri Lankans named in the Pandora Papers.

Former Minister Nirupama Rajapaksa and her husband Thirukumar Nadesan were named in the documents on illegal assets/ wealth off-shore.

Following the revelations, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa ordered an investigation into the documents, with the Bribery Commission and Criminal Investigations Department launching a probe.

Issuing a letter through his lawyer to the Bribery Commission, Samagi Jana Balawegaya member Ranjan Ramanayake has stated that he is willing to provide information with regard to the allegations.

The letter further requested the Bribery Commission to grant an opportunity for Ramanayake to provide information and assistance in this regard.

Ranjan Ramanayake is currently serving a four-year sentence after being convicted over contempt of court charges. (NewsWire)
