Former Minister and current SLPP MP Mahinda Samarasinghe is likely to resign from his Parliamentary seat according to media reports.
Kalutara district MP is expected to resign in order to takeover the position of now vacant Sri Lanka Ambassador to the USA and Mexico.
The Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the United States of America Ravinatha P. Aryasinha retired from public service last week.
Aryasinha, who has an illustrious career as a diplomat, was assigned to his post as the Ambassador to the US in December 2020.
Reportedly, he is retiring from public service as he has reached the age of 60 years. (NewsWire)
