Sri Lanka will begin administering Covid-19 vaccines to 20-30 age group in the Western province and Galle district next, Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said.
Vaccination for 20-30 age group began on last Wednesday from Hambantota district.
“We will start vaccinating age group of 20-40 from Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara & Galle next, most probably this will begin on Monday or Tuesday” Health Minister told NewsWire.
“We will issue an official announcement on this very soon with all vaccination center details” Minister Rambukwella said.
Sri Lanka is expecting four million Sinopharm vaccines from China to arrive tomorrow.
“Four million doses of vaccine have been handed over to Sri Lankan side at Beijing Airport earlier today. The chartered flight of SriLankan Airlines to bring the consignment is scheduled to leave Beijing at midnight of 4th Sep and arrive at Colombo in the morning of 5th” The Chinese embassy in Colombo tweeted.
