AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna & Sinopharm : SLBFE release details of vaccination for migrant workers

A new online portal has been established to pre-register migrant workers for the COVID-19 vaccination programme.

The Sri Lankan Foreign Employment Bureau (SLBFE) said the online portal “Covid-19 Vaccine for Migrant Workers” can be accessed through its official website www.slbfe.lk

Those who wish to leave the country for employment overseas have to register themselves for vaccination through the SLBFE Website and obtain a reference number.

Migrant workers who have already received the first dose of the vaccine, and those who have recently obtained SLBFE registration for employment abroad, and those who have already received the first dose from the host country and returned to Sri Lanka and then return to where they are employed, and expatriates who are visiting on vacation are eligible to receive the vaccines under this initiative, the SLBFE said.

Migrant workers who have secured employment abroad through a private channel (on a self-basis), will be required to submit their personal details through the SLBFE Website for pre-registration.

Migrant workers who have secured employment abroad through a Licensed Foreign Employment Agency (LFEA), must forward their request for required vaccines to the SLBFE through the respective Licensed Foreign Employment Agent.

The SLBFE said the self declaration shown in the system should also be accepted.

A registration fee of Rs. 16, 416/- will be charged by the SLBFE from migrant workers who have secured employment abroad through a private channel (on self basis), while it should be made to the credit of the account of the SLBFE through any branch of Bank of Ceylon.

Stating that no fee is charged for the vaccination, the SLBFE said the name of the migrant worker, Passport/Identity Card number should be mentioned on the bank slip.

The SLBFE requested those eligible to register not to use credit cards and e-banking facilities for this registration.

It further advised those registering for the service to upload the bank slip to the abovementioned website after completing the necessary payment. (NewsWire)
