The Department of Meteorology has issued a high alert rain advisory for 17 districts today (21) and tomorrow (22).
It said due to a low level of atmospheric disturbance, thundershowers are expected to develop over most parts of the island during this period.
Heavy showers above 100 mm can be expected at some places in the Central, Uva, Northern, North-central, Eastern, and Sabaragamuwa Provinces.
The Department added that the public has been requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers. (NewsWire)
