Senior Police officers complain to religious leaders against Easter Attack PCOL recommendations

Nearly 30 Police officers have handed over a letter to chief prelate of Asgiriya chapter most ven. Warakagoda Gnanarathana Thero, requesting the Thero’s intervention to rectify the injustice caused to several police officers by the decisions of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry on Easter Attacks.

SDIG Nandana Munasinghe, SDIG Deshabandu Thennakoon and Nuwara Eliya DIG Chandana Athukorala visited the Asgiriya Temple today (19) and handed over a letter on this regard.

The senior police officers have informed the chief prelate that some of the police officers who have been working selflessly since the war times are under the risk of losing their jobs and also their pensions, due to the recommendations of the PCoI on Easter attacks, which was appointed during the previous government.

The Police officers maintain that they didn’t get any instructions from the Yahapalana Goverment to act on the information received on Easter Attacks. (NewsWire)
