The public has been urged to adhere to the new quarantine regulations that come into force today and tomorrow.
Police spokesman Senior DIG Ajith Rohana said public events and weddings have been prohibited to curtail the spread of the coronavirus in Sri Lanka.
He said weddings have been prohibited from midnight tomorrow (17), adding that only wedding registrations will be permitted to be held.
Wedding registrations can be held at residences with the participation of the wedding couple, their parents, witnesses, and the registrar, while no others can participate in the function.
SDIG Ajith Rohana said, meanwhile, a quarantine night curfew will be implemented from today.
He said the night curfew will be implemented from 10 pm to 04 am daily.
Only employees and vehicles of essential services will be permitted to operate during this period. (NewsWire)
