A suspect has been arrested for stealing a three-wheeler while on hire in the Anuradhapura area last night.
The Police said the suspect along with another individual had boarded the three-wheeler under the guise of going on hire and had later stolen the vehicle from the driver midway through the trip.
Investigations launched by the Anuradhapura Police had led to the arrest of a 28-year-old man from Nittambuwa.
The Police had also seized the stolen three-wheeler from his possession at the time of the arrest.
The Anuradhapura Police has launched a search operation to apprehend the other suspect.
The Police have warned three-wheeler owners and drivers to remain vigilant of such scams which are being used by criminals to steal vehicles at present. (NewsWire)
