Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa has been denied entry to visit the teachers who were arrested for staging a protest in front of the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo yesterday.
MP Premadasa had visited the Foreshore Police this morning to inquire into the arrest of the protesters, but had been obstructed by the Police officers and was denied entry.
He questioned how the Opposition leader of the country, a Parliamentarian, and a lawyer could be prevented from entering the Police station.
The MP further questioned how the country could be addressed as a democratic nation when such an incident had taken place.
MP Sajith Premadasa added that it was the responsibility of the Opposition leader to inquire into the unlawful detention of teachers. (NewsWire)
