“Roshan Mahanama most suitable to be Sri Lanka head coach” Murali

Sri Lanka Cricket legend Muttiah Muralidaran has suggested that Sri Lanka should appoint former cricketer Roshan Mahanama as the head coach of the Sri Lanka National Cricket team.

“He is the only man I can think of who can change the current system. Mainly because of his discipline,” he said.

“I have spoken to the minister as well. Roshan Mahanama said that he wants time to think about it, but this is my opinion, I don’t know what SLC thinks about this,” Muralidaran who is also a member of the Sri Lanka Cricket advisory committee said.

Mahanama, who is a member of the Sri Lanka Cricket advisory committee, is being looked at as a possible replacement to Mickey Arthur, who will end his two year term in December, the Sunday Times Newspaper reported over the weekend.

Though Mahanama has few credentials in coaching, he is considered a good man-manager.

If appointed, Roshan Mahanama could play a role similar to current Indian head coach Ravi Shashtri. (NewsWire)
