Kotuwe thero files CID complaint over fake news linking him to M’Lavinia sexual exploitation case

Kotuwe Podi Hamuduruwo has filed a complaint with the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) in connection to social media posts linking him to the exploitation of a 15-year-old girl in Mount Lavinia.

The monk filed the complaint today, seeking action against various social media pages, which he accused of having slandered his name linking him to the incident.

Claiming that a monk has already been arrested and is currently detained by the Police in connection to the incident, Kotuwe Podi Hamuduruwo said he will initiate legal action against social media pages that have published false statements against him.

Over 30 suspects, including a monk have been arrested thus far in connection to the online sex trafficking ring using a 15-year-old girl that was busted in Mount Lavinia in June. (NewsWire)
