In his speech Khurelsukh Ukhnaa – Mongolian President said

“Three years ago, in 2018, during my official visit to Japan at the invitation of the Prime Minister of Japan, many issues were discussed in the field of bilateral relations, cooperation, and strategic partnership, one of which was the construction of the airport. The Prime Ministers of the two countries exchanged views and agreed to work together. Since then, much of the new airport project has been in full swing, and last year we received our new airport. Due to the plague, the work was postponed for some time, but today is the first official flight from Mongolia to Tokyo, Japan. Such a wonderful event has become a symbol of relations and cooperation between the peoples of our two countries.”

Kobayashi Hiroyuki – Ambassador from Japan, in his speech said

“First of all, to the Mongolian Government and the Mongolian people I would like to congratulate you from the bottom of my heart. Since the construction of the new airport till today, I would like to thank Mongolia, Japan, and every other nation who helped build this airport. During his visit to Japan in 2018 as the Prime Minister of Mongolia, I would like to express my deep respect and gratitude to the President of Mongolia, Mr. Khurelsukh, for agreeing with the then Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to put the new airport into operation as soon as possible.”
