ikman.lk’s parent company Saltside announced that it has appointed Infas Iqbal as its Chief Marketing Officer for its group of companies including ikman.lk.
Having joined the company in 2014 as an online marketing specialist, Infas achieved tremendous career growth within the company serving in a variety of roles while making a significant contribution to its journey to become one of the largest online marketplaces globally reaching around 8 million customers every month, including in Sri Lanka.
A digital marketing expert with over a decade of exposure in the field, Infas steps into the new position following his six-year long stint overseeing digital marketing operations at the Swedish based Saltside global team, which manages online marketplaces – ikman.lk, Bikroy.com (in Bangladesh) and Tonaton.com (in Ghana).
Elaborating on the new role, Infas stated that he would primarily focus on driving the brand towards the next phase of growth, leveraging on the fast-growing internet penetration in the markets. He also plans to take initiatives aimed at bolstering brand recognition particularly among the rural areas of the country, further strengthening Saltside’s mission to create sustainable value for the community.
During his 12-year long career span, Infas has served the leading global ad agency- Ogilvy, driving digital marketing strategies & executions for multinational companies from different industries such as Telco, FMCG & Education in addition to working at the UK based boutique agency- BQu.
Currently he is also a digital marketing lecturer and a member of the Curricular Steering Committee of the Asia Pacific Institute of Digital Marketing (APIDM).
A past pupil of Al Humaisara National School Beruwala and Royal College Colombo, Infas holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration (Hons) from Staffordshire University, UK. He has also been recognised as the Best in Asia for Innovative Use of Media winning a Silver Award at the 2013 edition of the prestigious Young Spikes Competition held parallel to the Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity in Singapore.
