Five Sri Lankan national cricketers have been left out from a coaching camp over contract disputes.
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) organised the ‘Residential Training Program’ for 26 selected cricketers to prepare the players for the upcoming ‘A’ team and related squad’s program.
The residential training will be held at the Dambulla International Cricket Stadium, starting from today, 25th June, whilst the program will run for close to a month.
According to SLC sources, Sri Lanka national cricketers Vishva Fernanando, Lasith Ambuldeniya, Lahiru Kumara, Ashen Bandara and Kasun Rajitha were among a group of cricketers picked for the coaching camp in Dambulla.
The sources said these players were left out from the camp after they refused to sign the contracts given to them, on transperancy grounds.
The players had informed that they will participate in the coaching camp without a contract as the SLC is currently negotiating the contract with national crickters.
But the SLC is reported to have insisted on signing contracts and has therefore left out the player from the camp for failing to sign their contracts. (CricWire)
