Two suspects have been arrested in connection to several robberies and motorcycle thefts reported in the Nochchiyagama and Thambuththegama areas in Anuradhapura.
Police spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said the Police have seized 6g and 5g of heroin from each suspect.
One suspect is reported to have conducted the robberies, while the other is said to have aided him by storing the stolen goods.
DIG Ajith Rohana said they were arrested after the Anuradhapura Police had received reports of several handbag snatching incidents in various areas in Anuradhapura.
He said the two suspects arrested thus far have been identified to have been involved in five of the robberies. (NewsWire)
