Seven more people have been arrested for attending the birthday party of event organizer Chandimal Jayasinghe at the Shangri- La Hotel in Colombo.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Roahan said the group consists of six men and one woman.
He said they will be produced in court today for attending the party on Sunday in violation of the quarantine law.
Six guests who had been arrested yesterday, after the Police had analysed CCTV footage of the event, were also produced in court on the same day.
Chandimal Jayasinghe and model Piumi Hansamali were arrested on Monday and were later released on a personal bail of Rs. 1 million each.
DIG Ajith Rohana said a total of 13 people have been arrested so far for attending the birthday party.
The suspects are Chandimal Jayasinghe, Piumi Hansamali, Dharshani Pushpamali, Madhushika Gunasekera, Pradeep Lakmal Deshapriya, Chamal Susantha, Kamkanange Chathura, Tharindu Pathum, Mohamad Shadhir, Rukmal Senanayake, Pranith Ramya Ranaweera, Dhanuka Samoath Sandharuwan, Shine wickramasinghe, Mohamad Irshad, and Jayan Chandraka Ariyasinghe.
The Police are conducting further investigations to arrest the remaining guests who had attended the event. (NewsWire)
