Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa has praised former Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera for his performance in a Political satire comedy drama.
The former Minister made a guest appearance as a king in the YouTube comedy drama produced by Wasthi Productions, which was released yesterday.
Commending Samaraweera’s performance, Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa said “I always regarded you as one of the most strategic political minds in #LKA even though at the latter stages we had different opinions but politics aside I never knew you were such a great actor! Kudos, Sri Lankan talent never ceases to amaze! @MangalaLK”.
According to the producers, the role was first to be played by actor turned politician Ranjan Ramanayake, but since he was imprisoned they had invited the former Minister for the role.
“We saw he had joined Tiktok recently so we thought let’s invite him and see, since it’s related to Tiktok. He agreed,” the producers told a local newspaper.
