The Government will take measures to extradite Pulasthini, AKA Sara, who is the wife of a suicide bomber involved in the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks, if there is concrete evidence that she had fled to India, Cabinet co-spokesman Minister Udaya Gammanpila said.
He told reporters yesterday, there were only suspicions that she had fled to India, but there is no concrete evidence to prove that she had escaped to the country and was currently residing there.
Minister Gammanpila said however, if this is proven, then the Government will request the Government of India to provide a chance for Sarah to be interrogated over the attacks.
He further said as Sarah is a citizen of Sri Lanka, a request will be made from the Indian Government to extradite her and to hand her over to the Sri Lankan Government for investigations. (NewsWire)
