The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) has filed a complaint with the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) against Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Ashoka Abeysinghe.
The SLPP has filed the complaint against SJB MP Abeysinghe’s public speech on Saturday (06) linking President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to the 2019 Easter Sunday terror attacks.
MP Abeysinghe had claimed that both President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and SLPP National Organizer Basil Rajapaksa had jointly staged the attacks, and that Chairman of the Avant Gard Floating Armory Nissanka Senadhipathi had funded the attacks.
The SLPP pointed out that legal action must be immediately initiated against MP Ashoka Abeyseinghe for making such false allegations against the President and the SLLP National Organizer.
The Party further said a complaint was filed with the CID under Article 3 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) Act. (NewsWire)
