Minister of Trade Bandula Gunawardena and Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP Lakshman Kiriella clashed in Parliament today.
The MPs engaged in a heated argument while responding to a question raised by Opposition MP Kiriella on the price of essential goods, such as sugar.
Responding to the question, Minister Gunawardena urged MP Kiriella to allow him to speak.
As MP Kiriella kept on interrupting, Minister Gunawardena claimed that the MP has illegally acquired acres of land in Hanthana.
MP Kiriella, in reply questioned if he too should make a personal attack on the Minister, and mention the latter’s controversial tour to Thailand. (NewsWire)
